Ok, long story, short. The plan for the night was for six of us to meet at East of Eighth at 9 PM. Then leave at 10:30 for an 11pm Halloween party at the Tavern on the Green (TOTG) in Central Park. The cost is $60 each and we bought tickets in advance. We get up to the TOTG at 11pm and there's literally thousands of people trying to get in. The line moved about ten feet in an hour. I saw many people trying to sell their tickets for half price with no takers. And it's raining. After an hour I left. Found out the next day the promoter over-sold the event and many people stayed online until 2am when the cops told the crowd to disburse because it was starting to get dangerous. Bottom line was we were scammed.
