Give Me Liberty

These pictures were taken in February 2009.

Give me liberty or give me death. This afternoon we visited two famous Philadelphia sites. The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Would have visited a few more sites but it's rainy, cold and windy.

The Liberty Bell was cool. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. Still a significant part of American history and symbol for freedom. There were plenty of people that made it out of today to visit. Glad it was indoors.

Next was Independence Hall. Waited on line outside for 15 minutes before getting inside. I was so cold. Never been here before and was great to get that chance today. I was in the very room that this country got to be in existence. Imagine being in the same room Ben Franklin, John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and may others formed our country into what it is today. Free.

Ready for the daytime touristy look

But first brunch at Omni Hotel Restaurant. Buffet was great and one of the managers offered a special crepe. I was full but Chuck ate one.

Liberty Bell

It's cold, windy and rainy today

Many tourists came out today…but can imagine when it's warm and sunny how many would be here

Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed

Upstairs at Independence Hall. Very large room, probably danced here

Tour is over, too cold and rainy to walk around anymore

Susie is tending bar at hotel again so we chatted with her
